31DC Day 2: Orange

Today is 8 September, and I am 6 days behind! :o Sorry guys, I've just been so caught up with school and everything, it's been hard to keep up.

But lo, and behold day 2 of the 31DC, orange nails.

For this one, I painted all may nails about 2 coats of NYC Times Square Tangerine Creme.

Then, I painted on a coat of this cutie little polish I picked up from Claire's for $1. This one is a glittery silver, but I bought another one that is like a light metallic copper-ish. I loved the lids for them! So glam.

Isn't it adorbs? :)

31DC Day 1: Red

Hey everyone! So today marks the start of the 31 day challenge! To start things off we have red nails! For this, I used two coats of Wet N Wild #414A Red Red as my base.

Then, I stamped on some small stars on each nail, using L'OREAL Paparazzi Pleaser.

31 Day Challenge 2012

Hello! This challenge can really help develop skills and boost determination. Today is the first day I will be doing it.

For those of you unfamiliar with it, it is a grueling fun challenge where you do nail art based on the different themes posted for 31 days. Some people choose do spread this challenge out over a longer period of time, but I'm gonna try and do it consecutively.

This is going to be challenging (remember my 30 Day NBA Challenge? lol), and it will be made even harder, what with school and all, but I'm excited, and I will try to keep up. :)

If anyone is interested, feel free to save the pictures of the challenge for your own blog (I have them in different colors, if you like a specific one). I've also included the original 31DC image if anyone is interested in that. The only difference between the 2 versions is day 31.

Hope you have fun!

Neon Nail Polish - Bonita nail enamel swatches

Here are some swatches of neon colors that are perfect for the summertime. I love wearing the pinks, I've worn them so far almost everyday of this summer! :p

I think these were all 2 coats.

L'OREAL Paris swatches

So the other day, I went to the drugstore to get a nice, light blue nail polish, because I didn't have any. I found a special - buy one get one 50% off, so I got two L'Oreal Paris polishes. One is a nice light blue (L'Oreal #530 Now You Sea Me), and the other is a really nice, champagne shimmering with little gold-copper sparkles (L'Oreal #350 charmed, i'm sure). Turns out, the nicer one - charmed, i'm sure - was cheaper and I love it so much!

Here's Now You Sea Me:

I love this polish. I think this was only 2 coats! Worth its money.
And here's L'Oreal charmed, i'm sure:

Love this one! Only 1 coat! So many different shades and shine. It's so elegant and can be worn with almost anything.

Pink Lemonade (Polka Dots + Tutorial)

Coral is a great summer color for this year. For this mani, I used  2 coats of L'Oreal #410 Mango-Get-Em as the base and let dry.

Love this color.
Then, I took a Q-tip (people use dotting tools for dots, but you can just use the tip of a Q-tip like me), dipped it in Claire's Yellow Brick Road. I just poked some dots randomly on my nails. It doesn't have to be perfect, because it's not that noticeable. If polish get on your skin, you can just clean it up with a Q-tip and polish remover.

I just love how it came out, it looked so cute and summer-y! Thanks for looking :)

NEW - Caviar Nails!!! (picture-heavy)

Welcoming the newest nail trend around, caviar nails!
What it is:
A two-step revolutionary nail art kit that inspires head-turning results.

What it does:
Created in London, this one-of-a-kind nail art innovation brings avant-garde catwalk nail styling to your fingertips. Featuring pearlescent beads for a 3-D effect, this kit includes everything you need to express yourself with your hands and become an instant nail connoisseur.
http://www.sephora.com/ciate-caviar-manicure-tm-P311207
It comes in different colors-
Rainbow, Mother of Pearl, Black Pearls
When I first saw this at the Sephora in New York City, I had to get them. These caviar nails look so cute and looks like you have little sprinkles on your nails! They come in kits - one pot of caviar pearls and one pot of polish, to go with the caviar pearls.

The one I got is Rainbow -
The base is ciate Strawberry Milkshake, an opaque pale pink, of which I used 1 coat.
I painted all of my nails this pink, and let dry. Some people put the caviar on all their nails, but I only wanted it as an accent. I put another coat on my ring finger and before it dried, I poured the caviar pearls on it through the funnel that comes with the kit. Then, add a drop of top coat over it.
This is what it's supposed to look like:

So cute, right?! I love how it looks. Mine stayed on for like three days and then the caviar started chipping off.

I think that it also looks good after all the pearls fall off, too! They leave indentations and some color behind.

I like how each dent has a color from the pearl that was there. I really like this idea, and I hope you can try it out too! :)
